Benjamin Kearney, Ph D
Ben has been working with and helping his clients enrich their lives for over 30 years. He wants to help people make positive changes to their lives.
Ben’s calling is working with children, adults, and families. He has been there. Ben knows of the challenges that life brings. He brings his unique perspective of “Building Together” to guide his patients toward creating their own thriving, vibrant future.
Ben is recognized as a leader in the State of Ohio consulting with Ohio Department of Health and many other mental health organizations. He is a speaker, presenter, trainer, and consultant for many Ohio mental health agencies. Ben has authored multiple books and is the creator of “Joyful Together” Child and Family Intervention.
One of the keys to Ben’s philosophy in his treatments is “Relationships heal and allow us to build more resilient families and communities.”
Ben’s Resume includes:
-Executive Vice President and CCO at OhioGuidestone.
- Implemented CBT+ Clinical Treatment manuals to standardize fidelity measurements. Led clinical training across the agency and others throughout the Ohio.
- Committees for Ohio Department of Medicaid at the request of the Governor’s office, and consulted for the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction.
- Strategically implemented and built OhioGuidestone’s project planning and program to standardize delivery of services across all OhioGuidestone’s regions.
- Completed Six Sigma black belt certification. Built program evaluation structures and data analytics capacity to meet performance and quality management initiatives at OhioGuidestone and for the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
- Created and developed the Institute of Family and Community Impact, a research and advocacy center at OhioGuidestone, which translates neurobiological science into clinical research, evidence-based practices. These include Joyful Together, a recognized evidence-based prevention program; Father’s Feelings, a paternal depression screening and assessment protocol; and trauma informed, cognitive behavioral intervention used across Ohio.
- Ben began seeing clients in a private practice setting, and performing clinical work since 1993.
